The Dallas Brass will return to D.C. Everest Senior High School for a three-day residency

WESTON — The Dallas Brass will return to D.C. Everest Senior High School for a three-day residency with students from across the area and for three evening concerts for anyone to attend.
Concerts are scheduled at 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 16 to 18, in the school's Theater.
The Monday and Tuesday concerts will feature about 300 D.C. Everest band students joining the Dallas Brass for a song. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $20 at the door.
The Wednesday concert will feature the local R&B ensemble Hip Pocket. Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

American Musical Journey

This program incorporates a full complement of brass and percussion for a musical travelogue through American history.  From the time of George Washington to the present day – music will be selected from the masters – Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Berlin, John Williams, Sousa; from bands like the Tijuana Brass and Chicago; and styles from Dixieland, swing, Broadway, folk, patriotic, pop, and even hip-hop! There is definitely “something for everybody”.

Symphony Pops:  A Tribute to Irving Berlin

Puttin' On the Ritz, Blue Skies, Easter Parade and God Bless America are just a few of over 1500 songs written by Irving Berlin - helping lift spirits through two World Wars and the Great Depression.  A Tribute to Irving Berlin, including sixteen of Berlin's most well-known songs, creates a dynamic entertaining salute to the genius of this great American songwriter.

A Merry Christmas with Brass

A long with the visual images of colored lights and snowy landscapes, the spirit of the Christmas season is best captured in music.  For centuries, brass instruments have been able to convey the spirit of festive occasions, especially Christmas.  As they perform some of the world’s most well-known carols, the musicians of the Dallas Brass brilliantly express the celebratory spirit of the season.;
There are more songs for Christmas than all of the other holidays combined – and no artist or ensemble performs them better than the Dallas Brass.  The Dallas Brass holiday show, "A Merry Christmas With Brass" adds sacred and secular holiday favorites to the regular variety of Dallas Brass repertoire.
Selections will include Deck the Halls, Carol of the Bells, Sleigh Ride, The Christmas Song, Frosty the Snowman, music from The Nutcracker Suite and much, much more.

American Masters
Performed with Symphony Orchestra

Celebrating America's vast and colorful  musical heritage with songs from our greatest composers. Including selections from Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun", Jerome Kern's "Old Man River", "The Way You Look Tonight" and "The Last Time I Saw Paris" to Harold Arlen's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and George M. Cohan's rousing patriotic melodies, this show is entertainment at its best!

Education

The "Music in the Schools" project is designed to have the Dallas Brass come to your community for a daylong residency.
Here's how the day works:
1. Clinic -- Dallas Brass offers tips on becoming better musicians, including discussion on practicing, breathing, and other subjects that apply to all instrumentalists.  Clinic includes performance of several selections and opportunity for student questions.
2. Student rehearsal(s) -- Dallas Brass invites band students to join them onstage at the evening performance. Typically a high school band and a middle school band, of approximately 100 students per ensemble, perform one piece each with Dallas Brass. Rehearsals with each group take place during the day.
3. Evening public concert -- American Musical Journey. A fun, fast-paced and entertaining performance; music from the time of George Washington to the present day; great for the whole family!
Other activities can be available.  Each residency is customized according to the needs of the school(s).
